Being a Donor... What to Expect
We would like to welcome you to the Center for Egg Options egg donor program. This information sheet
will give you an introduction to the egg donation process. It is extremely important that every potential donor gather as much information as
possible to completely understand what egg donation entails. The greatest gift one can offer another is the gift of life. By donating your extra
eggs to an infertile couple you will be providing them with an opportunity they would not otherwise have. Thank you for your gift of giving.
Step One is to complete our application and meet with us. Our application will ask you questions about your ancestral background, family information,
medical information, reproductive history, personal reasons for becoming a donor, education, and personality.
Step Two is to enter our database. If the donor passes their initial interview, the application will be passed on to our medical examiner for final
approval. Once the completed application is approved by our medical examiner the donor will enter our database. CEO will begin to show the donor’s profile to potential recipients so that a match can be made. Nothing starts until the donor is chosen by a recipient.
Step Three is being matched with a recipient. Once a match is made between a donor and a recipient the donor will receive a phone call from Michelle
or Stacy. They will ask you a few questions to ensure you are mentally and emotionally ready to embark upon this life enriching experience.
Step Four is being screened by Ph.D. psychologist Lisa Rivo Peterson and certified genetic counselor Sharon Aufox, MS.
Step Five is to review the Donor Contract with an attorney prior to starting the egg donation cycle.
Step Six is being evaluated by the Recipient’s Doctor. This appointment will include an ultrasound, blood work and a physical. Once you pass
all of your screenings and evaluations you will be on your way to beginning your egg donation cycle.
We look forward to working with you. Once you are chosen we will stay in contact with you throughout the entire cycle. Please feel
free to give our office a call if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to working with you very soon.
